About me

I write middle grade novels and write & illustrate picture books.

I love working with students in the classroom. As an artist in residence I've worked with K-12 students on projects integrated into curriculum. I'm big on having fun. I believe in the power of the written word and the paintbrush.

In my studio practice I make prints and paintings, and have created permanent public artworks including The Positions on the Field, portraits of ballplayers in porcelain enamel installed on the upper concourse of T-Mobile Park in Seattle. The Mariners' ballpark will always be Safeco Field to me. Just saying.
